Esperanto TED 2
I was shocked to find TED has its X almost all over the world for some years despite my calling in the previous post.
There is a forum discussion in lernu about this topic, the Esperanto TED, but, the discussion did not come to a fine point. Most of them keep saying the TED has the translation of Esperanto.
Well, now what I want is to have the other languages translate from the Esperanto TED programmes.
Just a search on the google site, I found almost entire ASEAN has the TEDx team and members to do the job for the company TED.
Well, the forum discussion have some people who are too clever to know what it is and what it is not. But sadly to say that, those participated in the forum are merely language lovers but not Esperanto movers. They are the pessimistic Esperanto speakers.
But in a word, I could say some Esperanto speakers are selfish not to spend some time in the course of promoting Esperanto. But, I think those in the forums are addicted to the non-productive discussion. They cannot provide new ideas but keep circling the same facts. They should spend some time out of the forum pages.
Look at the pages and decide for youself, how to involve the Esperanto Youth Association to do that. But one thing that I like to stress that those who particiapte in the TEDx have to pay money for the show, just from the Malaysian chapter, but I think it would nothing different in other countries as well. The charge is RM100 or more. What is that meant RM100 in Malaysia ? It is about a week meal for a family of 3 children.
Therefore, you know that TED shows are mainly for the rich, at least middle class and above. TED is conducting in English and in ASEAN, it is almost meant for the middle class people to enjoy the new knowledge. At least, not for Singaporeans though, others would have to be a graduate to understand the content of TED programmes.
TED was borned in 1984 but Esperanto was in 1887, a different of about a century, but TED now has taken the world by storm.
Esperantists would have to sit and think what have gone wrong with the Esperanto activities now.
Just keep saying Esperanto is an easy language to learn will not interest people to learn it as if there is a good cause of the language, no matter how difficult the language is, many would learn it, like health reason.
Just keep saying Esperanto is a peace language does not attrack people to learn Esperanto, brothers and sisters of the same blood family would also quarrel and fight in courts too.
TED is not for the poor families to learn new knowledge as it speaks in the elite language--English.
TED in Indonesia
TED in Thailand
TED in Singapore
TED in Cambodia
TED in Vietnam
TED list
Therefore, Esperanto movements have seriously gone wrong somewhere, isn't it ?
