UNESCO walk the talk
Fine, UNESCO, you are going to face lots of challenges in the coming years with your silly representatives in the organisation.
Of course, this year, it is the 60 years anniversary of UNESCO recommending Esperanto as the international language. Read the minutes here.
This report is one of the few that we can see:
President Zillur Rahman today urged UNESCO to play its role in making Bangla as one of the official languages of the United Nation (UN).

UN official languages are not in many languages, but the translation cost can kill many people in the world. Are these world leaders so stupid that they cannot control two languages, one the national language or official languages of their respective countries and the other one Esperanto, which needs only 150 hours of learning. If they are from the Latin language background, it could be even as few as 100 hours only.
The politicians are not concerning about their citizens. Which politician dare to do so ? As more and more languages are added in the UNESCO or other world organisations, the cost of translation flies higher, are they crazy for power of the language domination or they are caring for the people.

UNESCO has designated today, Feb. 21, 2009, as the tenth annual International Mother Language Day, dedicated to the preservation of first languages, heritage languages, and endangered languages everywhere. But avoiding all foreign entanglements, the U.S. has refused to sign on to Mother Language Day until American immigrants agree to celebrate it only in English.
