Do you think KAEM and UEA are sleeping ?
It is another day of debate of how Esperanto Associations are promoting the language.
' I did not see any news about the Esperanto associations were organising the competition.' My friend asked me.
'What competition ?'
'You like to write and you did take part in many competitions, like the poetry and story writing.'
Yes, this remain me that the Esperanto is not that active in this area. The Esperantists merely talk about what the good of cheap travelling and able to talk to many people etc etc. You can find in many comments. Tired of reading them now.
Certainly, we cannot find any competitions that is orgainised by the Esperanto association or regional league. But if we search the web for English short story or poetry writing competitions, we can see many.
I did take part in the National Novel Writing Month organised by an America group. They is not prizes for the winner. The word limit is 50k to qualify for the novel. As long as you reach the amount of words, you can get the digital certificate.
Of course, one can cheat it but it is non monetary award writing contest. The digital certificate is also worth nothing unless you can find your publisher to get your novel published.
I don't think the participants are looking for the money to survive their days. It is good example I took part as a challenge. I had to write 50k of words in a month. It was about 3000 words a day.
I did it though my novel is no excellent. I have accomplished the time management during that month. I learn to control my urge of watching television programmes.
