Esperanto is top 100 languages in the world.

That is what I am not feeling comfortable with the number of speakers when the news paper report about the speakers of Esperanto.

Esperanto is recognised by UNESCO in 1954 as an auxilary language thus it would be hardly any native speakers of Esperato. I hope the journalists would be able to distinguish about the mother tongue and auxiliary language.

Certainly, there would be some Esperanto native speakers but they have to assimilate into the local language. This would be posing some uncomfortable feeling to these group of people. But, will that be anything wrong to say my mother tongue is Esperanto and my first language is XXXXXX ?

Esperanto is now regarded as one of the top 100 languages, with about two million speakers worldwide.

Why can't the journalist thinking a little creative, by saying, it is hard to get the data, as the old data is 2 million. Now as long as there is the reach of internet, there is Esperanto speakers.

Yes, I learn Esperanto via internet.
