Esperanto failed project--Oomoto

 

I was twitting about the Oomoto religion which has 54,000 followers in Japan and there should have a possibility to bump into one of the Esperanto speakers when one is in Japan.

But a German Esperanto speaker told me not the case as the wiki said the fluent Esperanto speakers of Oomoto is 1,000.

This shocked me and later I asked a senior Oomoto follower and he confirmed that there is no such big number of Esperanto Oomoto followers.

Isn't the religion using Esperanto as the main praying content?

Why has this dwindle into the sad state ?

The Esperanto Oomoto follower told me asked me," Isn't we use our own language for such activity ?"

Oh, no, now, Oomoto was created in Esperanto but not other language. If the leaders of the present and the past have followed strictly the teaching in Esperanto, now, these Oomoto followers are bi-lingual. Besides, they could be the polyglots as the propaedeutic effect that help them.

The English wiki said:

At present time, the movement has its headquarters at Kyoto Prefecture and has a nominal membership of approximately 170,000.^{[citation needed}

^{This is even a shock to me , 170,000 followers. As far as i know the Brazil oomoto followers are using Esperanto. Even the Spiritsim}
