Esperanto-Kongreso ASEAN
I read the post of KS Seminario is over in Vietnam. Some of the participants were very happy. Well done Vietnam Esperantists. We are waiting for the bigger event in 2012.
No, Vietnam Esperanto Association can do more than that in 2011.
The crazy idea came to my mind again and this was what I was thinking.
Esperanto-Kongreso ASEAN
Yes, Esperanto-Kongreso ASEAN (EKA).
Vietnam has the most resources and now the experience. If we in the ASEAN can form the Esperanto ASEAN, it would certainly help the free flow of many things, as we all know the ASEAN is set up for the economy and thus culture. More trades can be conducted without language barriers.
Besides, this would also reduce the cost of foreign language education as most of us know that one needs only 200 hours of learning Esperanto but 2000 hours of learning English.
ASEAN countries are still developing countries besides Singapore which is an advanced country. The other ten countries include Malaysia are developing countries.
Therefore, with the Everyone Can Fly airlines serving most of the ASEAN countries, this would help to expand the tourism, business, education ( if there is a college which conducting in Esperanto) and information etc.
Therefore, I am keeping my fingers crossed to hear some good development in this part of activity. Perhaps, we can have few countries, just as the ASEAN started, it was only a handful. If it is even two or three countries, I think it is a good beginning.
Yes, we can start as what the modern technology brings to us, the Esperanto-Kongreso ASEAN on the net, something like the JOTI of Scouting Movement.
I termed this as EKARET. Esperanto-Kongreso ASEAN Reto (EKARET)
