Esperanto Versus Economy (EVE)
Skimming through the book titled 'China and Southeast Asia—Global Changes and Regional Challenges by 13 researchers in four parts and published by Institute pf Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore.
One question that pop up in my mind is why there is no discussion in Education economy? Isn't education a part of economy ? It is ,once upon a time Education was the largest export of Australia.
Coming back to the Esperanto versus Economy (EVE). How much have Esperantists discussing this issue in the forum ? With the GRIN report and Robert Phillipson's work on the Esperanto and the economy, it is less heard about Esperanto in the improvement of economy.
There are 11 countries in ASEAN and with China, a country with large Esperanto speakers, the issue of Education is not mentioned in most forum as well as the research papers. Of course, I like to do that but again in Esperanto and how many people can read it in ASEAN, perhaps, a small number in Vietnam.
Well, Vietnam has large number of Esperanto speakers too, to date, the only country in ASEAN which has the Esperanto Association.
EVE is a part for the economy. But, who would take the lead is a question which lies in KAEM, UEA or respective countries or even the individual Esperantists.
My friends said Esperantists are idealists. I think, not all though but have to admit it especially those holding posts in the UEA and KAEM.
