Esperanto is for the poor people.
I was annoyed once upon a time when I read about the comment in the Yahoo answer page.
Later, I agreed with the writer.
The rich people, in my country, can study English, but poor people can study Esperanto. English needs more hours to learn but Esperanto needs, a maximum 200 hours, about a year.
Poor people cannot go to school the whole life. Poor people must work after school hours. How can they sit at home and read English novels?
Yet, the government is not wise enough. For those living in the countries which do not need a second language or foreign language, congratulations, you don' t have to face the problem like us in Malaysia. A pupil in Chinese school has to study three languages as the Tamil pupil too. Only the Malay pupil who goes to the Malay school need to study only two languages.
Just imagine the time spend in doing the homework. One language subject just take 20 minutes for doing homework, for example, 3 languages would take up one hour. What about other subjects ?
Well, the world now just have one quarter of countries are rich, the other three quarters are poor countries, including the developing countries. If the heads of the countries of these countries are smart or have high intelligent, they put Esperanto as the common language for the people. How much money they can save up for not learning English, pupils can learn other foreign languages by choice.
Come on, not every citizen is going to study in America or Britain, only the rich can afford the US dollars and Pounds, why make everyone study English, especially I would like to put this question the government of my country, Malaysia?
Now, look, if all these poor countries can make Esperanto as a second language, and who will become richer ?
From the poor, We can become rich. Maybe even richer than the rich countries.
