Comment : ‘Saluton!’: the surprise return of Esperanto

There is no language as to make friends.

If you are still living in the last century, you think this statement is valid.

UNESCO and UNWTO recommended Esperanto for the economy reason. It is not for friendship. Only those who are suffering from psychology problem would take this statement useful.

Learning Esperanto needs less a year. Learning English needs more than 10 years, in some countries will even take more than 20 years .

With Esperanto as the second language, one year cost of teaching and learning, ten years cost of learning and teaching, which will save more money? The taxpayers money can be used to build more schools and hospital. Giving free education in the university level. No illiteracy is in the world.

I wished that, the writers or whoever want to write a piece of article about Esperanto, please think twice or at lease do some analysis.

Of course, I have to admit the flaws in the Esperantujo. They are not creative or they are still living in the old century.

Beside, if French delegates did not block Esperanto in the League of the Nations to be one of the official languages, there is no such article. Time is saved to do other things.

Esperanto has become steadily more accessible largely thanks to the language-learning app Duolingo. The Esperanto course recently reached a million learners worldwide, more than are currently learning Hungarian or Czech on the site. There’s a dizzying array of other online options to help would-be learners, too. A few taps on the Amikumu (or “do the friendly thing”) app shows users local Esperantists to chat with, while numerous Facebook groups help beginners with vocab and grammar. Esperanto may have been the brainchild of a Polish doctor in the 19th century, but it has adapted for the 21st.

Whether to learn a national language or a constructed one is a debate Kennedy has had with others. But one piece of advice from another Esperanto-speaker stayed with him: “Learn English if you want to make money; learn Esperanto if you want to make friends.” “It’s one of the truest things I’ve ever heard,” he says.
