To Malaysia Orang Asli and Orang Asal Community and their leaders _Part 2
How many percents of people speaking English in the world, this was the old data. |
Saluton !
Welcome to Part 2.
How
Esperanto can help the orang asli and orang asal community.
Here are
some suggestions:
1.
Economy
2.
Knowledge
3.
Communication
4.
Indigenous
peoples’ rights
Economy
If there is
no hard work, there is no success. Money would not fall from the sky. Of course,
there is no free lunches in the world too.
By acquiring
Esperanto, orang asli and orang asal community can begin to know the world as
Esperanto is recommended by UNESCO and UNWTO. The more people from the
community learn and use Esperanto, more communications take place and with the
cooperative resources from the community, they can begin some small business
for the locals as well as import and export some of the products to the nearby
countries in South East Asia or other parts of the world, like EU, which has
strict import and export rules and regulations and the quality of the products.
Just within
6 months or less, the indigenous community can communicate with one another by
means of modern technologies, short text message, WhatsApp, Line, WeChat etc.
Community
strength is important. Just contribution of one ringgit a month, for ten
people, it can be ten ringgit a month. Yes, ten ringgit these days can do
nothing but it can top up the mobile and it already connect to the world
through the abovementioned technology applications (apps).
Knowledge
Languages
are in both forms, verbal and written. Of course, now include the sign language
and the braille too. With language, we communicate and learn from one another. The
exchange process we either gain or improve our view on development.
As the
saying goes, knowledge is power. With the knowledge one has, the power to do
thing is greater. Why the orang asli and orang asal do not have the means to
communicate with other community? It is the language problem. Only a few privilege
ones, who could go overseas to study and thus you think English is important
and you wanted your children to spend the world life learning English but in
the end the result is zero.
You have to
consider each and everyone of us has different like of languages. As the
Malaysia education system, that is left by the British colonial master, still
make English a compulsory second language and the country has no language
talents in other languages like Spanish, French, Portuguese etc. one very
important fact is, not everyone is language lover and not every one like
English language. Make a survey in your community to see the result.
Look at the
Indigenous Esperanto website here.
Of course,
Esperanto can be used in United Nations and UNESCO. The local newspapers always
focus on English language report. With the Brexit in 2019, will English be the
major language in the world? Or there will be a fight for the major language in
EU again. Of course, France is again raring its ugly head to list French as the
major language in EU like what France did in the past, blocked Esperanto as one
of the official languages in League of Nations in 1920s. The France Chamber of
Commerce also did a research, which showed that Esperanto is the best business
language 9 decades ago. Of course it was again blocked by the government of
France. Language tussle or fight cannot be ended if inequality exist.
Communication
There are
214 tribes in Malaysia. Though Malaysia has gained independence for almost half
a century, the population censor board still cannot complete the survey of the tribes
in Peninsula, Sarawak and Sabah. However, the government is trying to
assimilate the indigenous people into the Malay tribes which was created by Dr.
Mahathir decades ago.
Even among
the orang asli and orang asal, from the Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak, you are
not able to communicate well as each tribal has its own language, it may have
some similarities but not fully the same. With 6 months of learning of
Esperanto, all indigenous people not only can communicate with the indigenous
people locally but also communicate with the people, indigenous or not in the
international level.
Yes, you do
not read it wrong. Just 6 months, six months, 180 days. The world in the
indigenous community will be changed.
With better
communication, ideas will be exchanged and life will be changed.
Indigenous
Peoples’ Right
On the
international level, how you can communicate with the indigenous peoples in the
South America like Brazil, Venezuela, Peru etc or in Europe or even in Asia
like the Philippines and Thailand.
You may ask
how many indigenous people in the world can speak Esperanto ? A good question.
If there is no one begin to use Esperanto, there will be no one to join in. And
the sufferings of learning English, Spanish etc. continues endlessly.
If Malaysian
indigenous people, orang asli and orang asal can take a new step, not only you
are changing your community, you are also helping the indigenous people in
other parts of the world to change for better life.
One stone
kills two birds.
Be brave to
change. No change, no progress. No pain, no gain. Change is the most difficult
process as one has to equip with new thoughts and physically movement.
